From ignorance to learning and back

I landed in some sophisticated place amidst the all-knowing studs.
I couldn’t understand the technicalities of F-1 race
I couldn’t understand the soccer terminology
I couldn’t stand the cacophonic parties
I couldn’t get a word of any English song.
I couldn’t see any of booze or smoke around
I hardly talked to girls.
My language knew no slang or swears words.
I believed in early to bed and early to rise funda.
But it all wasn’t that cool.

My weekend evenings were spent in front of a TV trying to understand who the hell Schumacher and Mr Alosno and Mr. Ferrari were.
I woke up late in the nights to see the soccer world cup and all the club matches, trying to decipher why there are 22 crazy people running after a ball, kicking it and others.
I did night outs chatting and loafing and playing computer games
I tried to dance to indecipherable cacophony.
I listened to western rock day in and out, with its lyrics googled and trying to phathom it.
I often got drunk with some weirdly distasteful cocktail.
I tried to inhale some of the nauseating nicotine hoping for the ‘kick’ it gives, as they said.
I created a fictional girl friend called Sush.
I spoke the four-lettered word once in every 4 words.

One fine day,
I asked someone who was the for which team was Mr Ferrari the defender
Who got the pole position in the European Premier League?
I danced to some cacophony in an attempt to impress that pretty lady, and fell down to fracture my leg.
I asked who is Mukul Jaikishan, when someone said did I mean Michael Jackson?
I was drunk and came to the class with a hangover, only to be sent out by the professor who felt that I wasn’t sane, when I said what the F**k are u teaching.
I was talking to Sush on my phone in the mess and it rang.
I was sleeping during an end term examination after a night out with Age of Empires and got myself an F grade, close to being thrown out.

… And then I decided to end the pseudo-giri
It was the time to unlearn all my great learnings
And was again on the ground zero,
Relatively speaking, I was back to absolute ignorance

  1. thanx

... being yourself is a big challenge and most of us often end up compromising on it.

  2. Yeah, being yourself is difficult indeed, but ignorance is not only a bliss sometimes, but actually a preferred option many times!

  3. but many "not being yourself" things happen when we are trying not to sound as a ignorant ... and all kinds of things we do for it

Obama mania

Now that the whole world is going gaga over Barack Obama being elected as the next US President, and that too with an overwhelming majority here goes few points of my analysis of his victory and related things! I think that the reasons of his victory were much more than just what their repective views on different social, economic and international issues were. They did play a role, but I think that wasn't the only factor that led him to victory. I think the two major factors were - 1. General dissatisfaction with George Bush on issues ranging from Iraq to Economy. This was bound to have some disatisfaction with the Republican candidate and thus swing in favor of the Democrat whoever the candidate have had been. 2. Most important factor contributing to his victory was quite symbolic. His victory symbolized hope; hope for the many people who struggle against the odds, and the victory of this hope which Obama symbolized. Seeing the meteoric rise of an Afro American and he occupying t...

Some random movie reviews

1 holiday, 6 movies! 8 movies in a span of last 32 hours! Huh … That was too much … A mixture of good cinema and utter crap … of hardcore realism to escapism … of typical and offbeat … of some popular to some watched by a handful … a mixture of many differents actually! Just writing a purposeless random review of all of these – 1. 1. City of god – Excellent! Brazilian movie, at best understood with help of subtitles and visuals. An excellent depiction of a Brazilian slum, where kids having guns is not an uncommon site; where crime is a way of life. 2. 2. Love actually – Beautiful! A mushy love story … rather many mushy love stories …Karan Johar types, if some parallel has to be drawn to our desi phillum industry … with everyone from a school kid to Britain’s prime minister is falling in love. A good watch nevertheless! 3. 3. Jhom Barabar Jhoom – Crap Only good things are nice songs … but not that interesting with random jhoom baraabar...

"On a break"

As mentioned in my previous post, of late I haven't been able to gather sufficient motivation or energy to make posts on this blog. Hence I am going on a self imposed exile from the blogosphere for some time. In other words I am "On a Break" This some time may last for few hours, few days or maybe few months. It depends upon when one fine day I gather sufficient motivation to type what is there inside my head and post things on the blog!!! Hoping to get alive soon on this blog! __ "Life is an infinite, non-converging exponential series of random irreversible screw ups of ever increasing magnitudes one after another "

What if this is not 'this' ?

What if I suddenly realized that my life is going as per the script pre-decided by some novelist, and I actually don't have any control over it? What if my life is nothing but a non-stop uninterrupted TV show, running for 25th consecutive year with me unaware? Wat if I am actually living a century before, and am actually on my journey to know the future of the world? What if in reality ghosts are the only things that exist, and humans are merely an illusion ? What if time was actually not moving in forward direction? What if on one fine day I find that they are about to demolish the earth to build the inter-galactic superhighway? What if trees and animals suddenly interchange their roles and vegetarian plants eating only animals, while non vegetarian plants eating both plants and animals? What if I am suddenly arrested just for imagining these all as I am committing a thoughtcrime ? Seems like an overdose of fiction and movies! Am I getting, rather sinking deeper and deeper into th...

... and one more blog post

Of late I have noticed few things about my blogging habits - I often pick up my laptop, beginning to type a blog post or anything ... I start and then I decide to discontinue as I don't manage to gather sufficient motivation or inspiration or just even sufficient energy to overcome my laziness to complete that post. Often I have ideas in mind but by the time I sit in front of my lappy, the idea fizzles out or gets relegated to a low priority corner, and that idea never gets materialized. When my lappy goes kaput, as it did today and as it did on my birthday eve some 40 days ago and I somehow got it repaired at some local hardware shacks at Sikar and Jhunjhunu, I crib about being denied opportunities to log on to blogosphere. In general, I somehow or the other let many a thoughts die a silent death within the confines of that volatile thing safely enconsed within the confines of my cranium. Maybe, some motivation is needed ... Somebody, please bring some carrots!!! Well, this post ...
